A choice of 9 or 14 mile walks with two ferry crossings along the Solent Way from Hamble to Lee-on-Solent or Portsmouth. Packed lunch with afternoon tea stop. Return by bus from Lee-on-Solent for short walk option.

A 12 mile linear walk from Woking to Guildford following the River Wey Navigation. This forms part of the E2 European Long Distance Route between Galway and Nice.
Meet 10.30 Woking Station (frequent trains from London Waterloo). Return by train from Guildford.

Saturday 7 November 2009WALK THE (WATERCRESS) LINE / Winchester Fireworks Spectacular! Leader: Greg
A 10 mile linear walk for charity from Alton to Alresford along the track of the Watercress Line Steam Railway - see http://www.watercressline.co.uk/mhralp/Watercress_Line/Latest_News/Latest_News.html for details. There will be refreshments at intermediate stations. Travel from Alresford to Winchester by Bus to see the Winchester Round Table Bonfire and Firework Display, which also includes a torchlight procession through the city centre.
Meet 11.10 Alton Railway Station (09.53 from London Waterloo, arrive 11.10). If travelling by car, park in Winchester, then catch the 10.10 Bus (X64) from the Bus Station (SU 484294), arrive Alton 10.55.

A 9 mile linear walk following the Test Way from Redbridge to Romsey, including the Lower Test Nature Reserve, finishing with afternoon tea in Romsey. Packed lunch.
Meet 10.20 Romsey Railway Station to catch the 10.32 train to Redbridge (arrive 10.39). Alternatively, meet 10.40 Redbridge Station (10.10 from Southampton Central, arrive 10.16).

A 10 mile circular via West Wycombe. A fairly easy stroll (it says in the book) though Chiltern woodland and meadow with a chance to visit the grounds of Hughenden Manor and possibly the (in)famous Hell Fire caves at West Wycombe. Packed lunch with possible chance for lunch time coffee at NT Hughenden Manor tea shop if it's open.

Saturday 8 May 2010STUDLAND BAY & OLD HARRY ROCKS, DORSETLeader: Greg
A 12 mile walk. After crossing the entrance to Pool Harbour on the Sandbanks Chain Ferry, we follow the start of the South West Coast Path via Shell Bay and Studland Bay to Old Harry Rocks. The walk continues along Ballard Down before returning via Godlingston Heath. Please bring a packed lunch, although there will be ample opportunities for a café stop along Studland Bay. Joint walk with Hampshire 20's & 30's.
Meet 11.15 Sandbanks Peninsula Car Park (SZ 044877 - outside the Sandbanks Beach Kiosk, near the public toilets). Note that the car park charge is £10.50 for 7 hours!; it is recommended to car share or use public transport. From Bournemouth Railway Station, catch the Wilts & Dorset Bus no. 50 to Sandbanks (depart 10.20; arrive 11.05).

As part of the Chilterns Weekend, there will be an 8 mile walk taking in West Wycombe 'Hellfire' caves, made 'infamous' by Sir Francis Dashwood, one-time squire and founder of the Hellfire club, and Hughenden Manor, Disraeli's former home, now a National Trust property.
Meet 9.45am by the Hellfire Caves in West Wycombe.

A 10 mile walk in North Hertfordshire. After quickly leaving Stevenage behind, the walk includes Knebworth House & Country Park. Pub lunch.
Meet 10.45 Stevenage Station (10.22 from Kings Cross, arrive 10.45). Car drivers join walk at Woodman pub, Norton Green at 10.50.
Saturday 28 August 2010DURLSTON HEAD TO SWYRE HEAD, DORSETLeader: Greg
There will be 2 walks (13 and 9 miles). Both walks follow the South West Coast Path south and west of Swanage via Durlston Head. The shorter walk will turn inland to Worth Matravers and follow the Priests Way back to Swanage. The longer walk will continue to Swyre Head (203m, the highest point in the Isle of Purbeck) via St Alban's Head and Hounstout Cliff. It will then continue to Corfe Castle before returning to Swanage by bus or steam train.
Meet 09.15 Swanage Youth Hostel.

There will be 2 walks (13 and 9 miles). Both walks follow the South West Coast Path north via Ballard Down and Old Harry Rocks to Studland Bay. Morning coffee stop at Knoll Beach Café. The shorter walk returns via Godlingston Heath (National Nature Reserve) and Godlingston Hill. The longer walk continues along Studland Bay to South Haven Point, returning via Studland Heath.
Meet 09.15 Swanage Youth Hostel.
Monday 30 August 2010LULWORTH RANGES & TYNEHAM, DORSETLeader: Greg
A 9 mile walk from Tyneham village in the Lulworth Ranges. We will head south to Gad Cliff before following the South West Coast Path via Worbarrow Bay to Rings Hill. Then head east along the inland ridge (including Povington Hill) before turning south to Kimmeridge Bay. We rejoin the South West Coast Path via Tyneham Cap back to Tyneham.
Meet 10.15 Tyneham Village car park (GR SY882802). This is half way between Corfe Castle and Lulworth Cove.
