About Footprints Walking Club
The origins of "Footprints Walking Club" can be traced back to the Summer of 1987 when a group of walkers met on a holiday in the Lake District and decided to organise a "reunion" weekend. This led to more weekends being arranged and gradually programmes of day walks as well.
The Club is nationally based with most members being in their forties and fifties but there are no age limits with attitude being more important than physical age! About three-quarters of our members are single.
New members are always welcome. The annual subscription of £12 covers the cost of running the club and the production of the newsletter, third-party insurance cover for all local & national walking and social events - there are no extra charges for "local" day walks. The club is entirely non-profit making and all events are arranged by club members on a volunteer basis.
We always welcome ideas, suggestions and offers of help! So if you would like to lead a local walk or event, help with a weekend, publicise our events or would just like to see more walks & events in your area - let us know!
Whether you walk regularly at the moment or are a bit of a novice to walking or just want to meet some new companions to walk with, we think you will find us a friendly and welcoming club.
