Non-members are welcome to ’try us out’ on a couple of day walks before deciding to join, but we ask you to check with the leader first. Click on the leader’s name to send an email. Where no email address is given use the contact form and we will put you in touch.

Where a walk involves public transport it is advisable to check the train or bus times beforehand. A packed lunch will be needed unless stated otherwise.
Walk leaders must carry out a written risk assessment and return it to the Secretary. This is required as part of the conditions of our insurance. The risk assessment form can be found here (PDF) or here (MS Office).
|Saturday 2 July||LEIGH AND BRIDGEWATER CANAL||Leader: Mike & Cath|
|Meet at Leigh Bus Station V1 stop for 10:30 start. Easy walk of approx. 8 miles via Gin Pit mining community to Astley Village and a visit to Lancashire Mining Museum (last surviving pit head in Lancashire). Return to Leigh via the Bridgewater canal. Can catch the V1 from St Peters Square - will provide latest bus information nearer the time. Option to get an early bus and have breakfast in Leigh. Will be a drink in Leigh at the end.|
