A 10 mile moderate walk over open moorland and climbing Black Hill – note this could be boggy if it has been very wet! Meet 10:15 for a 10:30 prompt start. Parking on the Wessenden Head road just off the A635 east of Holmfirth. Grid ref SE077075.
Saturday 6 July 2019HONLEY & CASTLE HILL, HUDDERSFIELDLeader: Malcolm
A 10 mile moderate walk in the Holme Valley near Huddersfield. From Honley we climb to Castle Hill where there are scenic views. The walk follows the Holme Valley Circular through Farnley Tyas and Thurstonland before dropping down to New Mill. A valley route is taken back to the start point. Meet 10.30am at Honley Railway Station, HD9 6LR.

A 12 mile walk up the Hardcastle Valley (hopefully with fine autumn colours) to the moors above Heptonstall before returning on the Pennine Way. Meet at Hebden Bridge station 10:15 for a 10:30 prompt start.
