Southern Area Walks
From the South Coast, North and South Downs to the Chilterns and all points in between, we have a selection of walks to suit all abilities. You’ll find details of the future walking programme on this page as well as a link to the last 12 months' programme so you can see what you've missed!
Non-members are welcome to ’try us out’ on a couple of day walks before deciding to join, but we ask you to check with the leader first. Click on the leader’s name to send an email. Where no email address is given use the contact form and we will put you in touch.

Where a walk involves public transport it is advisable to check the train or bus times beforehand. A packed lunch will be needed unless stated otherwise, although we try to finish most walks with a tea shop / pub stop.

*Drivers may wish to use the Park & Ride from Elstow (MK42 9XF); free parking, £2.80 return bus fare, concessions accepted. Bus departs 10.15.

Meet 10.30 Coombe Lane tram stop, near Croydon. Regular trams from East Croydon Station.

|A 12 mile circular walk from Ashurst via Pooh Bridge, taking in the edge of Five Hundred Acre Wood. Packed lunch. Return via the attractive Wealden village of Hartfield with a tea stop at Piglet’s tearoom.|
Meet 11.00 Ashurst Station (10.07 from London Bridge, arrive 10.57).

|Details added. An easy 8½ mile linear walk following the River Crane from near Heathrow to Twickenham. Boots optional. Probably a cafe lunch, but please ring for details.|
Meet 10.30 Hatton Cross Underground Station (Piccadilly Line Zone 6). Return from Twickenham Station (Zone 5). Buy London Travelcard to cover outward and return journeys.

|A 10½ mile linear walk from West Drayton via Iver Heath to Black Park Country Park and then along the Colne Valley Trail to Langley. Pub lunch at The Black Horse, Iver Heath and café at Black Park Lake.|
