A 9 mile linear walk from Petts Wood to Hayes following the London Loop, part 3. The walk passes through attractive countryside including Charles Darwin country, i.e. the village of Downe. A 7 mile linear walk from Bexley to Petts Wood following the London Loop, part 2. A very green, mostly easy, route through the suburbs of south east London, including open areas alongside the Cray Riverway, Foots Cray Meadows, Sidcup Place (with giant Redwood trees) and Scadbury Park Nature Reserve. Packed lunch, with tea stop at the end.

Meet 10.40 Borough Green & Wrotham Station (09.52 from London Victoria, arrive 10.37). Return from Sevenoaks Station. From London buy return ticket to Sevenoaks, which is also valid for outward travel to Borough Green.

A 9 mile linear walk through 3 villages steeped in history, a ruined palace, 2 castles and a Roman villa. Pub lunch in Shoreham. Tea or pub stop at the end in Eynsford.
Meet 10.40 Otford Station (9.42 Blackfriars, arrive 10.37 or 9.52 Victoria, arrive 10.28). Return from Eynsford station but please buy a return to Otford as this is further down the line.

A 9 or 12 mile circular walk via Staines Moor and the Colne Valley Way to Colnbrook for pub lunch at the Ostrich Inn. Return via Horton lakes. The walk passes within a mile of Heathrow, so expect to do some plane-spotting! Finish after 9 miles or continue for 12 miles via the River Thames.

A 10 mile linear walk from Princes Risborough to Wendover along the Chiltern escarpment, featuring a nature reserve, Chequers and Coombe Hill. Pub lunch at The Swan (Great Kimble) and afternoon tea in Wendover.
Meet 11.05 Princes Risborough Station (10.13 from London Marylebone, arrive 11.02). Return from Wendover Station. Buy return to Aylesbury to cover both outward and return journeys. Car drivers should park at Aylesbury station and take the 10.29 to Princes Risborough, arrive 10.45 (returning to Aylesbury from Wendover).

An 11 mile linear walk from Harpenden, through the Rothamsted agricultural research institution, along the Nickey Line and the Hertfordshire Way to Redbournbury Mill, and then along the River Ver to St. Albans. Pub lunch at Redbourn and tea stop in St. Albans at finish.

A 16 mile linear walk from Alton to Petersfield following the Hangers Way, including the Shoulder of Mutton Hill. We will have a couple of long breaks at Selbourne (6 miles) and Hawkley (11 miles) so bring a good packed lunch. Evening meal in Petersfield. The best walk in Hampshire!
Meet 10.40 Alton Station (09.23 from London Waterloo, arrive 10.37). Return from Petersfield Station. From London, buy return to Alton plus a single from Petersfield to Guildford. Car drivers return to Alton via Guildford and Aldershot.

An 11 mile linear walk from Farnham, Surrey to Bentley, Hants. The route goes via Farnham Heath Nature Reserve to Frensham Ponds, with their sandy beaches, for packed lunch. A snack bar is also available for hot drinks. After lunch, the walk continues through Alice Holt Forest where we will stop for afternoon tea at the café.
Meet 11.15 Farnham Station (09.59 from London Waterloo, arrive 11.13). Return from Bentley Station. Buy return to Bentley. For those planning to drive I recommend parking at Bentley Station to catch the 10.53 train to Farnham (arriving at 10.58).

An 11 mile linear walk from Leigh to Tunbridge Wells. A pretty walk confirming the description of Kent as the Garden of England. Includes rivers, lakes, woods, rolling hills and the lovely village of Penshurst. The walk continues along the River Medway and into Royal Tunbridge Wells through woods and parks which extend right into the town. Pub lunch on route and tea in Tunbridge Wells.
Meet 10.35 Leigh Station (09.35 from London Victoria, arrive 10.34 OR 09.15 from Charing Cross, arrive Tonbridge 09.58, change & depart 10.19, arrive Leigh 10.23). There are frequent trains back from Tunbridge Wells. Buy a day return to Tunbridge Wells.

There is an option to shorten the walk at Houghton Bridge (after 5½ miles) by taking the train back from Amberley to Arundel.
